Hi, I am Kate

I am a certified Nutritionist from Stanford - Center for Health Education and a Integrated Nutrition Health Coach from Institute of Integrated Nutrition. I also have a master in Sociology from Aalborg University in Denmark as well as close to 10 years of experience as a consultant. Besides that I am a mom of two, wife and a bit of an exercise-junky and here's my story...

Though body image and health has always been on my mind - my story to get to where I am today has been anything than a straight line. Since I was a kid I've been into all kinds of fighting sports like boxing, karate and MMA besides running and biking, but on the side I struggled with unhealthy food relationships for decades. I went through periods of all kinds of diets and food restrictions, followed by binge and compulsive eating patterns. Yoyo-dieting became my "thing" which was messing up my digestion, metabolism and nutrition balance and even worse, my self-esteem, mood and general well-being.

2016 became a turnaround point for me. I quit my former job and moved abroad with my husband and two smoothie-loving children. Although my path to a healthier relationship with food and self-care had already started a few years before our move, it was then, I really took the time to dig into what health meant to me and how I could take better care of myself and help others along the way.In the beginning it was a bit terrifying leaving a well-payed job behind along with good friends and family, but then I started seeing it as an opportunity to embark on a new way of living.

This led me to dive into nutrition and health coaching and I began tuning in on my habits, and what it was that my body and mind was really needing to feel great. I realized that I had been neglecting signs of stress and the fulfilling feeling of actually having the energy to be truly present with my family along with the importance of having nutrient-dense food and sleep. I felt the urge to work on a better version of me and to enjoy life even more and it became clear to me that I needed to let go of perfectionism and challenge my current habits in order to gain control over my health!

So I have started on a health journey - where I have learned to confront my past, nourish my physical and mental health through exercise, awareness and more balanced living - without restricting myself to specific foods. But I know firsthand that making healthy lifestyle changes can be super difficult, so if you are looking for support to get back on track with your health and your life in balance - I would love to partner up with you.
